Round 21

We still have 1 more round to play and Sport Funchal e Benfica is already declared the Champions. This is the 4th title in a row for the team from Funchal.

On Sunday Sport Funchal e Benfica played home and recived The Crow Team for a crutial match, if the home team lose they would have to fight for the 1st spot on the last round against O Garitinho C.F., this would be definarly the match to see but Sport Funchal e Benfica easly defeated the away team by 1-0 and conquered the championship.

Jay Caulls gets his 1^st win on the Portuguese League since he is on the helm of FC Portus Cale.

This is the 2^nd match with Jay Caulls as manager and already grabed 3 points in a match aganst Porto Eclipse, 1-0 was the score and the goal was scored by Nebojsa Djekic.

Las Putas wants to grab the 3^rd place on the standing league table and for that to be possible they defeated

BHFanaticos by 2-0. Next round they have a though match against Mechanical Orange F.C..

Itsagoal FC misses a good chance to secure the 10^th place as they lost against Ataporquinhos nthat are trying to stay on League 1.

Setemares put the oranges in a box and stack them to 5^th place as they defeated Mechanical Orange F.C. by 2-1. No matter what happens on the next round the Oranges Boys wont get anything more or less than the 5th place.

O Garitinho C.F. did their job and defeated FC Estuera by 2-0. But all the fans of the home team were interested in what was happening to Sport Funchal e Benfica as they could only dream if the National Champions losed the match.

Mechanical Orange F.C. is a team that was promoted back this season to league 1 and they wanted to prove to all that they are a quality team by getting the 3^rd place, but for that they had to win Sunday’s match against Setemares.

the game started with Setemares attacking and not letting the oranges to breath, on minute 14 Holy Moley recieves a pass from The Great Stumpy and shoot to open the score board. 1-0

Mechanical Orange F.C. tried to bounce back but the recently joined joe shank to the team was proving to be a good add to the Sailors boys has he stoped all the attempts of Ricardo Madruga to attack from the right side.

Until the half time the home team controled well the match not leaving Mechanical Orange F.C. to have a chance to attack.

On minute 48, Vitor Baía moves out from the net and the box to intercept a ball on the half of his side and does a short pass to Pepe Pinto who does a long pass for his mate to attack but the ball gets intercepted by Raddy McKenny who shoots to the empty net with a long ball. 2-0 was on the score board and the dream of Mechanical Orange F.C. to end up 3^rd on the standing league started to fade away.

On minute 55 Rene Higuita sees joe shank completly free and with space on the left side of the field so the keeper passes to the Side Midfielder who runs towards the net and enters the small area where he shoots but Vitor Baía punches the ball denieing the goal for the English midfielder. It was 2-0 but joe shank was determined to score a goal and on minute 73 he shoots again but the Portuguese keeper saves it without a problem.

On minute 77 and in a counter attack, Telmo Alves gets the ball and driblles his way to the net, he shoots and Rene Higuita has a missfurtune when he punches the ball because it still managed to enter the net making the score board to flash 2-1.

“The goal was extremely unfortunate. MO hadn't threatened all game, was getting quite bored actually. I guess a bit more Passing with Hands training is needed. Can't believe just a sloppy goal came from the only miscommunication we had all game.” Said Setemares keeper.

in the last 10 minutes of the match Setemares opted to control the match and not to lose the 3 points that they were about to get and be on the 3^rd spot of the standing.

“I really do help that we can keep 3rd place, after a lot of people saying we wouldn't make the top 3 at the start of the season, it would be nice to show the hard work we have put in to get us a solid position to finish with” Confessed Rene Higuita and showed the desire to continue getting the Manager and team’s confidence “Being the number 1 keeper is something I'm happy with here at Setemares, and hope that they continue to keep me as their man between the sticks for seasons to come.”
