Yesterday the Stadium of Sport Funchal e Benfica was almost full and the expectations was big as the big talk was that the end score would be 2-0….. For the Brazilian team.
It was 4h45 pm and the referee gives the authorization to kick start the match, the Portuguese National Champs are playing against Aliança FC from Brazil the Portuguese stadium had a lot of Brazilian spectators giving a good vibe to the away team.
As soon as the kickoff is done, 27th Dealers passes the ball to Luís Miguel Silva twho still from outside the box delivers a power shoot and scores the 1st goal of the match. It was still only 2 minutes from the start of the match.
On minute 18 the Brazilian team is under attack and in a long pass the Portuguese Goal Keeper Dário Silva gets out form the box in order to intercept the ball, he receives it and in attempt of clearing it, the GK pass get intercepted by the Brazilian Central Forward Rodrigo Nunes who shoots for the goal but the Portuguese Goal Keeper easily saves it.
After this the Brazilian team started to shoot more but the Portuguese Keeper was there every time. On the second half the battles to get to opponent sides were more even has both teams struggled to pass the midfield. The end score was 1-0 and next Saturday the Portuguese team will face the Spanish team HISPANIA.
Before the match, the Brazilian manager was afraid of the SFB formation as they were not used to play against that type of formation, but in the end of the match his analyse was different
“I belive that the score was unfair, Aliança FC pressured more even with 4 bots on the team, we had more possession on the match. But that’s not Benfica’s problem as they took the advantage of our weakness e made a early goal”
About the rest of the Champions League, the Brazilian manager, Augusto Manager said “This Benfica team is very strong; they will fight to be the champions with ease as their keeper stops everything, ill be rooting for them to take the title”
After this statement the Brazilian manager said that his looking for a new Keeper for the team so if there is anyone interested on defending Aliança FC colors please contact the manager, Augusto Manager.
The Portuguese Central Defender of the National Champions, Paulo Portelada said after the match “It was a great game that all of us enjoyed to play and fortunately we got the win, the game started the best way possible with a goal for us but after that Aliança tried to change the score and got many shots, nº10 got more than 5 shots from all over the pitch but he didn't score because we have a great keeper that made all kind of saves getting the MOM and the victory to us.”
With this victory the Portuguese team will face the Spanish team, HISPANIA on next Saturday for the next stage of the Champions League and the Defender said “Next game against Hispania will be a hard game, they have great players that makes that team 1 of the best in the world and 1 of the favorites to win UFCL, so in theory they are the favorite to win this game but if we have a full squad we can fight and get the victory.”
