Itsagoal FC got promoted to League 1 this season and Centro Desportivo talked with the manager Matty Totterdell that is on the team since Season 6.
Centro Desportivo - Who is the Key player of the Team?
Matt Totterdell - I cannot single out just one player from the team. The team in general works together and not as one. Singling out one player may deflate some morale in the side.
Centro Desportivo - What are the Goals of the Team in League 1?
MT - The main goal for most teams is to avoid relegation and i would love to be able to do that. Cementing ourselves as a Portugal 1A team would be a great goal to aim for
Centro Desportivo - Can you tell us about the Name of the Team?
MT - The name of the team is on behalf of an online football manager game called: Itsagoal.com. A football management game and we have many teams in many different leagues :)
Centro Desportivo - You are with this team since Season 6. How do you feel to see it now on Top League in Portugal?
MT - Oh it's a huge delight. I cannot claim all of the glory in building the side and getting promoted. The players i have here play a huge part in the success. Without most of the players i have here i wouldn't be able to achieve what i have today. I'm ecstatic at the team’s performance last season. Conceding only one goal is special
Centro Desportivo - Who is the Manager you most admire n FID-World?
MT -There's only one manager who stands out to me. The manager of Itsagoal.Com in England 1A. His research on opposition is absolute superb. He gives alot of advice to the team and is a very fair manager in many different aspects. For me nobody comes close.
Centro Desportivo - What is the Tactic you love the most?
MT - I like to field a basic 4-4-2. Might sound boring but it suits our players in many different ways. We have different midfielders using different runs and maintaining different roles on the field. Forwards tracking etc, it's just a suitable formation to play and will use it in 1A.
Centro Desportivo - What is the Funniest thing you witness on FID that you can share with us?
MT - 2 pretty funny events. The most recent was a playoff game i was in, Our captain went in on a player hard and got a straight red. I thought it was hilarious! And another funny incident involving my team in Portugal, our goalkeeper blocked a shot which went in and therefore the goal didn't count. And following that we missed out on promotion by 1 goal.
Centro Desportivo - What is the main advice you can give to a newbie Manager?
MT - I'm not the best manager myself, but the advice i would give is to just stick at it. Everyday check to find new players, send out personal messages and create a squad which you can maintain. It's not all about how good the players are, it's about the activeness.
