Some seasons ago FC Portus Cale against FC Estuera was most of the time a synonym of draw. Both teams acted like twins, always together on the standing league and much alike each other on the style of play. FC Portus Cale started to have problems, the manager left and things started to change for both teams. FC Portus Cale started to go down the drain and FC Estuera started to promise to be a top team. For that we started to see FC Estuera win his “twin” and this season they got 3 points again against FC Portus Cale.
in the end of the match we talked with the manager about the game, the season, the league, the teams folding and the next match against Mechanical Orange F.C.
So, now winning Portus Cale is a normal thing?
It will never be a normal thing I guess, I was happy to see Portus Cale fully active again and they gave us a really hard match. Apart from that, they had the same amount of points as us before the game started, so that means we are probably well worth each other. The game didn't proove otherwise. Problems caused by unexpected bot players nearly costed us a goal in the very first minutes of the game already. Portus managed to keep pressure till around minute 15-20 and after that we slowly balanced the game again and took over in second half. All in all I think we rightfully earned the points. There were other games in which we have dropped points by not having the slightest bit of luck, but this time we couldn't complain about that, it might as well have been a 0-0 draw, since we scored our goal fairly late.
- You are currently 3rd with same points as 2nd. what are view about the league this season?
Well as expected (at least I did) Setemares is on top of the league. I kind of saw it coming last season already. They got even better statted players in now and combine it with very good play. We should at least have drawed our match against them, but a coordinated blackout from our side in the last 5 minutes simply gave them a free goal. I was really gutted as I felt this might have been an early championship decider. Instead we lost the game and saw Setemares run off 3 points extra. 5 Points ahead is a lot, but this competition is so tight that they will surely sign up for some draws in the upcoming games of the season. Next to Setemares currently standing out I expect a close race between The Puritans, Garitinho, Portus Cale and us. I'm still waiting on Porto Eclipse to close the final gap, but I think they will close it, either at the end of this season or next season. Ataporquinhos and BHFanaticos are doing very well holding on to their defensive play and honestly I can't blame them for doing it. If you watch their squads you'll see its their best tactic to play at the moment. Both teams are stronger than they were before. Very well organized and potential subtop teams next season.
Por 1A will always be a very exciting league to play in that's for sure. If IAG + another team were to drop, we will have some strong teams coming up from second division too, like TOP NOTCH for instance.
- Itsagoal FC ended, now The Crow Team manager left the team without any noticed. what you think about all this?
Kind of gutted Itsagoal FC is folding, as they have always been a team of which i thought would grew up to be one of the subtop teams of the league. They had lots of problems to get a full 11 on it seems and if the results stop coming and the manager leaves the team, you need a good core of people to keep the team together and search for a new manager. Unfortunately some of their users are unsure of their future which of course has an effect on their 'input' for the team. I hope to see the IAG B-team from second division back soon.
The Crow's, well.. I don't have a good view on their team. To me it always seemed like they were having a number of ups and downs, but on the ups they could aswell beat number 1 of the league, so it isnt a bad team at all. I hope they find a new manager cus they will always be a dangerous team to play against.
- What you think Portus still need to get in a higher level?
Continuity I guess. They still have some chempenned players now, but once those players lost their penalty and the Portus Cale squad is still the same, they will be very dangerous and be an important title contender. There are some top class users over there.
- Next you play against MO. what are your views about their current form?
Well it seems like MO lost some key players during the last weeks and it kind of shows those were more important to MO than previously thought, but on the other hand I still expect this team to win a fair lot of games this season. We will surely not underestimate them next sunday.
