We talked with Brian in the end of the match to see what is on his mind about this defeat.
This is what he had to say:
“We got off to a bad start and kept choosing the wrong options in possession, eventually we gave the ball away trying to pass the ball around in our own half instead of getting the ball into the other teams half. From the turnover bot moves from our CD and GK resulting in crow team scoring from their only shot of the game. We came back well in the second half and created 4 or 5 good chances, but couldn't get the ball in the net.
In the second half Crow team were keen to try and hang onto their lead and just cleared the ball long every chance they got, in order to run the clock down. Sensible tactics given the lack of attacking quality in their side, but quite difficult and not so much fun to play against. We did get annoyed by their use of the tactic of deliberately placing players offside and then clearing the ball to them to force us into taking the free kick from deep in our own half.
Personally I regard exploiting flaws in the ME like this as cheating and think that their players involved should receive bans, but I doubt that that will happen. However, members of our team reported this problem in November after a similar thing happened to us last season, so the developers have had plenty of time to implement a solution, so they have to take a lot of the blame for allowing this flaw to remaining within the ME for so long.”
