The National Champions got a draw against a team that everybody believed to be losing it strength and got caught on the league table by others teams. The difference between 1st and 4th place is 3 points, everything can happen!
Who would say that Las Putas after losing their last 2 matches would get a draw against Sport Funchal e Benfica?
the 1st half was completely dominated by the home team that passed more time on SFB’s side trying to get to the box, the national champions defense did their job but they had too much to handle. In the second half the battle was in the midfield, both teams tried to control the ball and go longer that the midfield but passes were well intercepted and if one pass or another got through, both defenses did their job. This was a very even match between this 2 teams that always show’s their best when play each other. After 4 wins in a row, who would believe that Sport Funchal e Benfica would get a draw against a team that had a bad start?
Even thou O Garitinho C.F. manager Seraph Lamington admitted that SFB is the main contender for the title (read here), the win on Sunday match against Itsagoal FC gave him a nice boost of confidence for the rest of the season as both teams entered in battle of words on the forum.
Itsagoal FC manager was down to earth about this match giving the kudos to his opponent “Well played O O Garitinho C.F. (…) You guys deserved to win tonight, you were much better than us, we made some mistakes which were costly, and we didn't really have a proper game plan throughout”
Erick Leónidas, Goalkeeper for O Garitinho C.F. after hearing those words admitted “Yeah, gg bro, we had a lot of luck in da first goal and that helped us for all match”.
Thanks to the draw of Sport Funchal e Benfica, Setemares has now the same points as the league leader and have a great chance to be isolated in the league as leaders if they win next round on Wednesday where they play against the National Champions.
Kobayakawa Sena Wasn’t enough to stop Setemares attacks as the manager admits “Thought we played quite well, but Verm and Sena were the usual brick wall again. Just had to keep the pressure on and get some luck...” said Ian-Hugh Manatee
Setemares players also are on the same page as their manager, as Chopper Legsoff said “your defense was strong but I think we just about deserved the 3pts.”
