FC Estuera season start was not that great as expected, goals weren’t showing up and concerns started among fans about the true ability of the team. Last round the team played against O Garitinho C.F. that last season were the main contender of the title and little by little started to go down. Last season one of the players said that they were just waiting to season to end giving the impression that season 12 would be a season where they would show all their magic.
2 wins and 2 draws weren’t enough to see the true ability of O Garitinho C.F., even thou the draws were against FC Portus Cale and Ataporquinhos 2.0. Losing this last round with FC Estuera must be a red flag on decreasing form of the team. In the other side FC Estuera with 1 win and 3 draws was a bit concerning but adding another win in this last round against O Garitinho C.F. must be a moral boost and a good result for a better performance.
Great game this last round. What are your views about the match?
Was a tough game as expected off a very strong team, we knew going into the game that it wasn’t going to be easy so we tried to keep it tight and be strong at the back as we have been all season. And once again they were solid claiming another clean sheet and basically setting us up with enough opportunities to get shots on target. As regards the actual game we felt it might have gotten away from us when their keeper managed to keep about 3 or so attempts in quick succession from Max. Luckily for us we kept playing well and more chances presented themselves
2 goals scored against one of the best keeper of the league. Tell us a little about your secret.
Haha my secret? Avoid being part of the chuckle brothers and hope when he’s on the bench that logans curse doesn’t transfer to me. But seriously it is no secret, when you get awesome crosses from SMs like Bunz and Mos each game it makes creating chances so much easier. The second goal appeared to be a bot move from their keeper but Atrick needs all the confidence he can muster at the moment having hit a baron spell in front of goal.
Other previous 4 matches didn’t go so well, what you think went wrong?
Not that they went badly but perhaps we were just not smart enough in our approach to those games. Something that maybe contributed to the special effort that we put in last night against Garitinho.
This win against Garitinho put your level of excitement up high?
For sure although last season was very much a building season for us we always felt that when all our chem pen had been overcome that we have a squad capable of pushing the top positions in the league. Some may have not expected that result but at Estuera we feel we are capable of beating anyone if we turn up and play properly
