After a loss and a draw Mechanical Orange F.C. loses 2 points again and this time against a team that has issues on scoring FC Portus Cale. 2-2 was the final score.
O Garitinho C.F. after being eliminated from Champions League gets a win for the Championship as they continue pursuing the National Champions. This time they defeated Porto Eclipse by 1-0.
Sport Funchal e Benfica keeps winning and now has 13 wins with 24 goals scored and only 4 against. Setemares was the Champions victim as they won 2-0.
FC Estuera got a draw against Las Putas. Some might see this as a good score as the home team played against a Semifinalist of the Intercontinental Cup and 0-0 against a team of that caliber is a good score.
The Crow Team is very quiet this season but this round they brought some attention. Itsagoal FC after drawing with Mechanical Orange F.C. on round 16 now loses 2-0 with The Crow Team.
All eyes are on Mechanical Orange F.C. now days as the Machine is slowly fighting with the big ones. According to the standing league position FC Portus Cale aint a big team in the league but they have a good history on POR1A. Aside from that the manager Lawrie Sanchez , some rounds ago, brought attention to the problem that the team is facing, scoring. On round 16 they scored 3 goals and yesterday they draw with Mechanical Orange F.C. scoring 2 goals.
The match started with 15 first minutes in a battle on the midfield and on minute 17 the battle was won by the home team when Bruno Fonseca on the midfield passes the ball to David Gonçalves that is tackled by Michael Cameron but the English man can’t stop Gonçalves as he continues to the box passing the ball to Telmo Alves who scores on the 1st opportunity of the match.
In a throw in on minute 34 for FC Portus Cale, Chris Billy takes the advantage of no Off sides on throw ins and pass it long to Nebojsa Djekic and the Serbian CF doesn’t miss the chance to draw the match.
After this, the battle on the midfield continued till the end of the 1st half. On the 2nd half of the match, Il Fenomeno Ronaldo a Romanian SM dribbles away since the center midfield till the box where he shots to score and turn the table for FC Portus Cale with a lead of 1-2 for the away team.
Michael Cameron had big troubles stopping David Gonçalves and the Portuguese player gave big headhechss to the English defender. On minute 59 Ptara Gomes blocks a pass from Viv Anderson and finds himself alone with just the keeper to beat. The Portuguese CF shoots still from outsde the box and the shot is very weak, Freddy De Vadder runs forward to punch the ball and unbelievably he fails leaving Ptara Gomes with a big chance to score and draw the match. 2-2 was the score and the Portuguese CF can thank the Gods for this fluke given by the Belgian keeper.
Still with a lot of time to play, both team went for a goal and get the 3 points but no net was violated till the end of the match anymore.
“It was a decently fair game, but I still feel we could have pushed further to the win. The fact is that most of Portus Cale's goals were kind of lucky (being offside on throw in, dribbling 3 guys and then making a perfect shot out of the area) was a bit rubbish. They also had a much higher dribbling percentage. Regardless, it's still a result that feels overall adequate to what was seen on the pitch, and our team played quite well and did what it had to do for the most part. Let's hope we can grab more points in this final part of the season to hold a top 4 finish. It will be hard.” Said David Gonçalves after the match.

Viv cleared away the ball, ptara blocked the clearance, the blocked ball bounced into the box where went for a receive since that shouldn't be a problem if you get there first & can receive with hands. Because I get 1*'ed ptara manages to win the fight and shoot in an empty net.
Well you shouldn't go to the ball should you, "Vermeire"? A risk is a risk.
ReplyDeleteNot saying the block wasn't lucky, sure it was, but then again so were your goals (shooters weren't that good and still got 4 bars in those 2 shots, and all those dribbles).
But like I said, the result can be considered fair overall.
If you closely read what I commented above, I never said that the block was lucky. I said that what's in the article is just something completely different and does not reflect the situation in any way.
