Second half of the season started for Portuguese League 1 this Wednesday and even thou FC Portus Cale x FC Estuera was the only big match in this round there are some good developments for other teams, some positive other, negatives.
Sport Funchal e Benfica Still on the 1st place with 9 wins and 3 draws, this Wednesday they beat Itsagoal FC 3 – 0 and most defiantly they will be the champions again.
O Garitinho C.F. Even thou they are one of the most criticized team in the league specially because of the footballers being Spanish, they are holding strong in second place with less 4 points than the leader. This Wednesday they draw with their rival Setemares and continue having 3 points more than them.
Setemares Started to be one of the favorite to win the championship but they are now struggling to keep up. They have less 7 points that SFB and they are in big risk to fall behind very quickly.
Mechanical Orange F.C. Remember this team of not doing anything special on the start of the season? Well now they are 4th in the league and they have the same points as Setemares.
Las Putas Last season they fought for the title, this season everyone was expecting a little more from them but…. They are 5th and 9 points behind.
FC Portus Cale Ok…. To be honest I don’t know what to say about this team. They are on League 1 for a quite long time to perform better. Mechanical Orange F.C. came from league 2 and they have more points then FC Portus Cale.
FC Estuera Another team not performing to its standards. Manager Phil Weston reckons the bad performance of the team and threatens to leave the team. To be honest I believe in the manager and I know he can bring this team to its level. He had a good and competitive team and he can do it again. Last round they played against FC Portus Cale and took the 3 points.
Porto Eclipse How can you guys be defeated by Ataporquinhos ? 1-0 in last round, Maybe this explains why you are in 8th place.
Itsagoal FC Awesome start of the season where they caught everyone by surprise, now they have 9 defeats. Was this a call to reality or they are underperforming? We will find that out on next matches that’s for sure.
