Las Putas, playing home had everyting to grab 3 points on this last round, but for some reason Setemares completely surprised everyone not by winning 1-0, but from completely destroyed the Spanish team.
“We've never beaten Las Putas, and were expecting a tough game. Our leading goalscorer is on holiday, so we had to play a new formation and players out of position.” Explained to us the manager of Setemares, Ian-Hugh Manatee.
“Before the game we hoped to contain them and attack on the break. To be 3-0 up at half time, and to then go on and win so well was very pleasing, and a nice surprise.” Said the manager after the 4-0 win considering this win a very crucial win.
AL thou a 4-0 win against a team like Las Putas is something important Ian-Hugh Manatee thinks that “It's still early, but I think it sets a marker down to the rest of the league and shows that we're going to be challenging again this year. It's also one of the best all-round performances I've ever seen from us. I'm sure Las Putas will bounce back - they are a good team.”
Even if this win sets high hopes to the manager, he also admits that “Of course, it means nothing if we go and lose our next game!”
When questioned if he considered his team a candidate for this season title, IAN said:
“I'd like to think so - as I say it's still early, but I hope we will be up there. We may not have the stars that many other teams have, but this season is our third with a very settled and happy squad core, and we work well together.
We're the only team still yet to concede a goal, and I think is a good reflection on our defense. That said, it would be unfair to single out any area of our team for special praise, like I say we work well together, win as a team and lose as a team.
I think Garitinho and Benfica will be up there again, as well as Las Putas and Portus Cale. It's the great thing about POR1A - there are so many good teams.”
This Sunday, Setemares has a tough match against Ataporquinhos, but the quality showned against Las Putas makes us belive that they will win yet another Spanish team.
