The battle of the champions declared Sport Funchal e Benfica the winner on this round.
As the match started, Ataporquinhos pressured to start by scoring the goal and for the first 20 minutes they controlled the match. After this Sport Funchal e Benfica started to relive the pressure and started attacking. In one of these attacks, on minute 32 Luís Miguel Silva grabs the goal making the Spanish team very uncomfortable.
On second half Sport Funchal e Benfica started strong and on minute 51 Tito Gladiador makes the advantage go up with a great goal. All started to look bad for Ataporquinhos but in a great individual play from Theo Walcott on the sideline gets everyone by a surprise and a good pass to the box makes Benito Carrizosa to score and reduce the score to 2-1. Till the end of match it was a very balanced game and the national champions got the 3 points.
